Spring Tide
by Jet Set Ayo Sue on Mar.26, 2009, under My Diary
At last it’s officially here spring the period from the vernal equinox to the summer solstice as the clocks go forward one hour at 2:00a.m. on Saturday 28.03.
And on this day the 28th children will cheer and the citizens of the world will celebrate as they wish good cheer and much merriment on this day of days ever forth to be known as Ayo Sue’s birthday.
Yes it’s come round again that one eternal meter who is forever tugging at our own allotted span ‘old father time’.
However, let’s not dwell on the passing of time but let’s celebrate and welcome in together, the onset of spring. A great time for all things new
and all things that should be renewed.
I love this time of year, the days are longer and (hopefully) the chill of the winter night is fast receeding. Soon we can be sipping champagne and spending long evening nights outside on the veranda as we enjoy each others company under a blanket of stars.

Something New, Something Old

Since the popularity of the television programme the ‘Antiques Road Show’ and its various spin offs the trade in fine arts and antiquities has never looked back. And now that the bankers and the government have seemingly squandered our savings it is always heartening to be reminded that there is at least one steadfast asset that can always be relied on.
So whenever there is a fine arts and antique fair being held in local proximity, such as the
BADA Antiques and Fine Art Fair on
from the 25th to the 31st March 2009 at The Duke of York Square, Chelsea, London SW3, I am ready to venture forth with the vaunted anticipation of discovering a priceless item. Sadly I am still searching, but as with every great adventurer the voyage of discovery is always just around the corner.
Antiques by their very name always used to be regarded as the exclusive proclivity of the older generation but with the rise and rise of the various television shows devoted to every aspect of the antiques world from bric-a- brac to the finest Chippendale,
(I’m talking about the furniture ladies) the attraction of antiques and fine arts has never had such a univesral interest.
Whilst the vast majority of us cannot claim to have a priceless Chippendale
or as of yet undiscovered Van Gogh stored discreetly away in the attic it can nevertheless be an enjoyable time spent perusing the antiques and fine arts on show at the BADA fair.
Shopping needn’t be just restricted to the boulevard or department store, when you want to bag the genuine article.

While
Britney Spears began her comeback Circus tour in New Orleans, Louisiana on the other side of the pond the ‘king of pop’
Michael Jackson,
flew in to announce at the O2 arena that he would be performing 10 new shows. He said it would be the last time ‘he would be performing in London.’ It took just five minutes to announce but nonetheless the fans were pleased, particularly when he kept saying, ‘this is it.’ Perhaps a little perverse but we got what he meant. Tickets are rumoured to be set on the high side to meet his reported £1.5m per night pay demands. However, if it is to be thefinal tour for the ‘king of pop’ then it will be a show not to be missed.
Who said CD’s were going out of fashion? A 10 diamond encrusted platinum CD case with the CD called, quite simply ‘woman sweet 10 diamonds’.
A fitting tribute indeed!
And for those of you who know my penchant for all things artistic, here’s what you could be doing with just a few simple crayons.
The artist Christian Faur created theses pictures by using thousands of crayons as wax pixels.
Now that’s where all the crayons have gone.
Happy reading!
