Time For A Changes

by Jet Set Ayo Sue on Jul.12, 2010, under My Diary

Well, what a busy time it’s been. That footy thing, now at an end, soaring temperatures, now at an end and Tiger’s making his way to bonnie Scotland, to play in the UK Open (yes) at the home of golf St Andrews. Let’s hope he manages to avoid a highland fling! And talking of change, if you haven’t yet seen it, or even if you have, check it out again. Hope you like?

Dear companions, you know I like you very much but it’s not going to be possible for us to meet for tea & cakes or even occasional spot of tiffin unless my Rigby & Peller trust fund is satisfactory  compensated, without it  really you know they’re not going to be listed on the FTSE 100 at this rate.

Looking forward to seducing you (as always) very soon.

Le Coq d’Argent

by Jet Set Ayo Sue on Jun.30, 2010, under Eateries

You know sometimes you forget just how fantastically striking a skyline London has. And it’s not until you are standing on a wonderful terrace looking out that you are fondly reminded of this fact. Overlooking the now infamous square mile, on the roof of 1 Poultry, Le Coq d’Argent has a simply stunning roof garden.
On arrival you are transported to the roof by private lift, and straight away you know that you are in for a celebration of French chic and a fine feast. The ambiance is charming and the views stunning, really the view is fabulous.  Being situated in the city of London, it’s no surprise to find a heady mix of lawyers, judges and business men alike. But don’t be put off by that Le Coq d’Argent is well suited and in a prime location to attract this type of patron. And anyway it didn’t detract one iota from a charming and pleasant atmosphere.
Being a French restaurant, you come to expect certain things, like as I said sophisticated and fashionable chic surroundings. A great atmosphere and fabulous food, all of which we got. But oh, how we had to wait - tad slow service and rude waiters! . Not so good if you are looking for a quick business lunch, but fortunately for me being as I was accompanied by a handsome debonair companion, the wait for the food was easily tempered by this.
All in all, Le Coq d’Argent, is a wonderful restaurant which can boast a fabulous terrace providing simply stunning views of the city. There’s a great atmosphere, good food and with perhaps just a nod to Gaelic nonchalance when it comes to the service. Le Coq d’Argent is well worth a visit, if nothing else for the views alone.

Thanks for a fab time J x

They Think It’s All Over

by Jet Set Ayo Sue on Jun.29, 2010, under My Diary

Oh dear it’s all over and we really didn’t do very well. Though I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that. But whilst the England football team might have been a little off target perhaps we shouldn’t be too surprised, as throughout Europe there are roles more suited to each ones capabilities.
As I understand it in heaven;
  •  The chef, he is French,
  • Naturally, the policeman British,
  • The mechanic (Vorsprung durch Technik) German,
  • The organiser Swiss and
  • ….The lover man Italian.
Of course in hell it’s a little different;
  • The chef is British,
  • The policeman German,
  • The mechanic (je ne sais pas) French,
  • The organiser Italian ….. and the lover Swiss.  Dear oh dear can this really be true? Remember awhile back this post
But don’t worry whatever your nationality, whatever team you are supporting in the world cup. If you need to forget, just how bad we were, if you need someone to commiserate with and remind you that even if England failed to excite you, and even if they almost drove you to tears and absolutely drove you to despair there is always one thing, no matter what, that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and spring in your step.

Come home lets getaway complemented  by a  cold Krug Taittinger or how about a bottle of Bordeaux  for a passionate lover’s tryst and let me sweep away those world cup blues.
